The Dolphin

The Dolphin is symbolic to the meaning of these pages.

Equality, Friendship, Family, Open-Minded, and Diverse.

Dolphins live in all seas and are comprised of 32 distinct (ethnic) variations.

Dolphins are family oriented and each shares in the whole. They practice equality and are self-sacrificing. When one is in trouble the others will rush in to help without concern for their own safety.

There are many stories (some verified) of Dolphins rescuing swimmers and sailors of all races and all cultures from danger and peril.

One famous Risso's Dolphin, Pelorus Jack guided sailing ships through the treacherous waters of Pelorus Sound in New Zealand. This faithful friend to sailors of all nations guided the ships to safe harbor for over 24 years.

In addition, the Dolphin is the symbol of Submariners the world over. The Dolphin Pin signifies qualification in submarines and as a retired Navy Submariner of 21 years, the Dolphin also has a special meaning to me.
