Hi... I am searching for info for my father-in-law. He served on the USS Colahan DD-658. He loaned all his naval pictures years ago and they were never returned. We are trying to collect as much info as we can for him. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Rich,
Had a chance to review your site today. You've done an excellent job
setting it up! I'll be glad to put a link up in the near future. It may
take me awhile because I've not been using the Net Finds like many of the
Guides have, i.e. I haven't been putting them in my Resource List.
However, after seeing how Brenda was doing it, I decided that was a good
idea. I'll probably set up a separate page for that purpose instead of
putting the links in the Resource List. though.
By the way, don't know if you are aware that TMC will be "fielding" a
new mbody page Monday, 29 Sep. The format is better I think -- gives the
Guide more options. When you get a chance, take a look. It may be
afternoon before everything is finished, with over 500 sites to change.
Again, great site you've built. Be looking forward to following your
progress. Thanks.
Regards,
F.O. White, Jr.

to visit. I'll be back often. As a homepage "newbie"
I see a lot of things I can learn. I'll put a link to the
PooP Deck on my page if you don't mind. By the
way I'm #4 on your new CPO Ring. Does that make
me a "plank owner" of sorts? :) Keep up the good work.
NOTE: The question I was asked RE, the letter below concerned the old sailor's weather gauge, which is as follows:
Red sky at night, Sailors delight.
Red sky in the morning, Sailors take warning.

Dear Rich T.,
Oh yes, that's it! Thank you very much for helping me out with that saying. I discovered your Navy site while looking for recovery sites. When it first appeared on the screen the graphics made me smile. While I have been a civilian all of my adult life, which is more than a few, I was a military kid all of my kid life. I remember sitting out hurricanes in the Sonar Station in Key West, surf fishing off the gulf coast in Texas, traveling across country seven times (my dad's transfers were always from one coast to the other). I remember standing on the docks and being so proud when the ship came in and I could see the back of my fathers round white hat (that's what it looked like as a kid) and the band was playing. No matter
where we went we were always the outsiders and yet I felt like I belonged to most elite group in the world. Well, thanks for letting me take up your time here. I just wrote to thank you for your help. Thank you for the Navy site. It was such a nice surprise.
All the best,
Dalene

Sure, no problem on the deep linking. If folks want to visit our other
pages, they're all linked back through our main page and menu pages.
As far as the midis are concerned, I made my "confession" on our main
home page. I gathered a bunch, when I was ignorant of giving proper
credit.
Thanks for the nice comments! When you do get a chance, I hope you
enjoy the GSD pages too. I can stay up late, I'm on vacation this week!
P.S. Forgot to say, I will add your Poop Deck, if that's OK!
