Rhode Island Picture Post Cards
Wickford House and Annex - Wickford, RI - 1911
Postcard is by E. E. Young - Wickford Druggist

The Wickford house is located across Main Street from Saint Paul's Church. It was once a well known Rhode Island inn, however it has been a private residence for many years now. The house was originally built on land owned by the daughter of one of the founders of the town and dates back to the 1740s. Portions of the house are believed by some of Wickford's old timers to be even older; perhaps dating back as early as 1712. Beautiful flower gardens can be found to the rear of Wickford House. These gardens are one of the stops on the "Hidden Gardens of Wickford," walking tour sponsored annually by the local preservation society.
