Distinguished Americans Series - General Joseph Stilwell This Stamp was issued on the first day of the American Philatelic Society's, (APS) StampShow 2000 held in Providence, RI from August 24 - 27, 2000. There is a disconnect concerning the stamp's designer. The official press release lists Mark Summers as the designer of this stamp as well as the Claude Pepper (Scott 3426) and the Hattie Caraway (Scott 3431) issues. Scotts 2002 specialized catalog lists Richard Sheaff as the designer. StampShow is the largest Stamp show and exhibition in the United States and is held annually in a different city each year. The show is sponsored by the American Philatelic Society (APS), the United States Postal Service (USPS) and the American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA).
