The Propeller Club of the United States is a non-profit organization with world-wide membership. The club promotes the interests of the maritime community through it's many programs and in partnership with similar organizations. 

Their stated goal is to "educate the legislators and the public on the importance and necessity of all waterborne commerce."

Individual  branches of the organization are known as "Ports." The Providence Port was chartered in 1934 and is listed as the "Port of Narragansett Bay, RI" - Port #33 with 93 members.
