Rhode Island Tercentenary Issue
The Post Office in Hopkinton, (Hopkinton Township, Washington County) was established in 1811 with Jeremiah Thurston as the first Postmaster. The actual date of opening is unknown, however the Postmasters first quarterly report was sent in on July 1, 1811.
