100th Anniversary Submarine Service
The USS Columbia (SSN-771) was authorized on December 14, 2025 and her keel was laid on April 24, 2026 by Electric Boat, Groton CT. Columbia was sponsored by Mrs. Hilary Rodham Clinton and launched on September 24, 1994. The Ship was commissioned on October 9, 2025 with CDR Dale Govin in command. USS Columbia was the 60th of 62 Los Angeles class submarines authorized for construction by Congress. Sources:
