| RIP RAP | |
A Foundation or sustaining wall of stones or chunks of concrete thrown together without order (as in deep water); also : a layer of this or similar material on an embankment slope to prevent erosion. A riprap provides protection against the eroding effects of pounding waves and high water. |
| We've got over a year in New Orleans now and we really love it here. It is totally different from any place I've lived in before but, there is so much to do and enjoy here . Mardi Gras is just around the corner again. I'm once again in the process of updating and adding new material to all of my websites, so please bear with me. The New Guestbook is working out well, I am really grateful for all of the wonderful and informative entries there. I wish I had the time and energy to answer each and every one of you. If you really need an answer back on a question or issue and havn't received one yet, please send me an email reminding me that I havn't gotten back to you yet. The new job is going well, I have an office off site in an area called Harahan, that I rarely get to use as I spend most of my time at the shipyard. I have two email addresss now if you would like to contact me. They are SaltySailor@msn.com and TheSalty@TheSaltySailor.com. I've added quite a few new ship's pictures on the graphics pages and have also added a new Web-site in tribute to the S-Boats of 1918 to 1945. There is a wealth of information, resources, and graphics concerning those Gallant Ladies at the site and I hope you'll take the time to visit there also. I am no longer writing the Veterans and Retiree's column at Suite101.com. I retired the column two years ago and Suite101.com left it in
place. Any and all questions about stories and articles remaining on that
Website should be directed to Barrie Bradshaw at barrie@suite101.com.

| Don't forget to check out the S-Boats - Gallant Ladies of the Past, The Web-site includes facts and statistics on all 51 S-Boats, personal experiences of crewmembers, histories, and tons of actual photos. I am always looking for new material and personal stories of shipmates who actually served on board the S-Boats, So, if you have pictures or a story to share with your shipmates, please let me know at thesalty@thesaltysailor.com.
The Log book is working once again. Please stop in and browse or leave your mark. |
