Rhode Island Air Mail Covers
First Flight - AM1 - American Airlines from Providence
From the Franklin D. Roosevelt Collection

This cover is a very special item that was once a part of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's personal stamp collection. Roosevelt was an avid philatelist and much of his collection now resides at the Smithsonian Institute Postal Museum. However, part of his collection was broken apart and sold at auction. This is one of those auction items and has been authenticated. The cover is a stamped envelope  (Postal Stationary - Scott #UC5).
