I'm not sure what the American Plan was; it might have included meals and laundry. However, even at $2.00 a day this is less than a flop house would cost in today's market. The hotel had just changed management and the enclosed letter, sent to all of their former patrons informs them that the hotel has been completely renovated and that the service will be even better than it was in the past.
