Narrow River Bridge - Narragansett, RI
Linen Postcard - 1930s era

This bridge spans the narrow river which empties into Narragansett Bay. it is really tidal at this point and mostly salt. The entrance to the bay goes between two large rocks and is extremely narrow. when the tide is coming in it is impossible to get out without a motor. My friend Tommy and I tried it once in a 14 foot lapstrake dory; we almost got smashed onto the rocks and had to give it up. Going up river you eventually end up at the little stream that feeds the Gilbert Stuart Snuff Mill historical site.
