Rhode Island Picture Post Cards
Girls Friendly Society - Holiday House - Saunderstown, RI - 1957
(Scroll Down for History and Background Information)

The postcard is the second of two cards showing the Girls Friendly Society - Holiday House at Plum (Beach) Point in Saunderstown, Rhode Island. This card was sent in 1957 - Fifty years after the first card was sent in 1907 and is addressed to a Miss Lillian Haynes in Brooklyn, NY.

The reverse reads, "I am feeling much better. Edith Anderson, Josephine and I came up here with a (looks like) Sundew car last Saturday. Elizabeth Reynold"

There appears to have been an extension and second fireplace added to the front of the structure since the first photo postcard was taken in 1907.

The society disbanded in 1993.
