Wickford, Rhode Island - 1931

(Scroll Down for Background and History)

The Old North Kingstown Senior and Junior High School in Wickford, Rhode Island was built in 1931 for grades 7 through 12. Beginning in 1959, when the new High School was completed on Fairway Drive between Wickford and Hamilton; it housed grades 7 through 9.  In 1960 with the completion of additional classrooms at the new High School, the 9th grade students were relocated to the new High School. I attended 9th grade in this building in 1959. (I attended 7th and 8th at the temporary Robert E. Perry Junior High facility located at the Davisville Seabee Base.) In 1960 I entered the 10th grade in the new facility and graduated from there in 1963

In 1976 the building became home to the 6th through the 8th grades and became known as Wickford Middle School
