Quonset Point Naval Air Station - Quonset Point, RI
Located within East Greenwich township

I believe that the carrier on the right is the USS Lake Champlain CVS-39
Note: That carrier on right is a straight deck and one on left is angle deck

The Naval Air Station at Quonset Point and the Sea Bee Base at Davisville closed by the Federal Government in 1973. The site now houses several Rhode Island Government authorities such as the Rhode Island Air National Guard and the Rhode Island Port Authority and Economic Development Corporation. Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation, (submarines) also has extensive facilities on the site. During my last summer in Rhode Island prior to joining the Navy in 1963, I worked at the base Galley (Mess Hall) as a Scullery Queen. (That's a pots and pans scrubbing/cleaning room.) We worked 12 hour days - six days a week at $1.35 an hour regular and the last 4 on overtime at time and a half. That was actually pretty good money for an 18 year old back in the early sixties. The name of the company was "Citywide Janitorial Services."
