There have been four post offices located in Valley Falls. The first Valley Falls Post Office (Cumberland Township, Providence County) was established on June 4, 1846 under Postmaster Charles W. Baker. This post offices was disestablished on October 31, 1908 at which time it became a branch of the Pawtucket Post Office. The Valley Falls Branch of Pawtucket was disestablished on September 30, 1942 and combined with the Lonsdale Branch to form the Valley Falls-Lonsdale Branch of Pawtucket. The Valley Falls-Lonsdale Branch closed in 1958. The Valley Falls Station of Pawtucket was established on June 26, 1986. That dates makes the above cancellation a double treat in that it is the First Day of Issue for the postal card and the First Day of Operation for the Valley Falls Station. The Valley Falls Station was disestablished on September 30, 1990 and a second Valley Falls Branch of Pawtucket opened in 1996. This station is currently in operation and is located at 197 Broad Street Cumberland, Rhode Island.
