The Rockville Post Office, (Hopkinton Township - Washington County) was established on February 13, 1849 under Postmaster Hiram Arnold. This Post Office is currently in operation under Postmaster Susan M. Walajtys appointed on January 10, 2004.

Rockville is the home to one of the nation's finest Boy Scout camping areas, Yawgoog Scout Camp. Yawgoog was established and first opened for camping in 1916. The site is located on and around the old Palmer Farm, (300 acres) and with later additions now encompasses over 1800 acres. Yawgoog is divided into three separate camps; Three Point, Sandy Beach and Medicine Bow

The LaFayette Scout Troop that I was a member of did not use this camp. Our troop used Camp Aquapaug located on Worden's pond in the Great Swamp area.
