The Walnut Hill Station of Woonsocket was established in 1970 and is currently in operation in the Walnut Hill Plaza located at 1500 Diamond Hill Road.

Walnut Hill Acres; located in East Woonsocket is a residential neighborhood that was constructed in 1950 by the Ferland Corporation of Pawtucket on land that was primarily farmland prior to that time. The Walnut Hill School of Arts is the second oldest school of arts in the country and is recognized internationally as one of the premier secondary art schools providing coed training in art to students in grades 9 through 12.
