This Folded Letter Cover was sent by the District of Providence - Collectors Office to the Collector of Customs in Bath, Maine. It contains a confirmation by the Providence, RI Boarding Officer that the crew of the Brig W. P. Walker conforms to the list sent by the office in Maine. The cover is canceled in red "Providence, RI January 1849 with the rate-mark "5" also in red. The ship's master is Benjamin Edgecoumb.
