This third Fleetwood cachet depicts Courageous; winner of  the America's Cup race in 1977.

When Courageous successfully defended the America's Cup by winning her fourth straight race on September 18, 1977, she became a two time America's Cup champion. She had also won the cup in 1974 by beating Southern Cross in four straight.

Courageous was designed by Olin Stephens and was one of the first ocean racing yachts to be built of aluminum. Stephens also designed four other cup champions; Ranger, Columbia, Constellation, and Intrepid.
