The Howard Post Office, (Cranston Township, Providence County) was established on March 15, 1880 under Postmaster James W. Cornell. The Post Office was closed on September 21, 1880, reopened on June 27, 1882 and disestablished again on August 18, 1972. Mail is currently handled by the Providence Post Office.
