The Oak Lawn Post Office, (Cranston Township, Providence County) was established on May 3, 1871 under Postmaster William Elsbree. The Post Office was disestablished on February 28, 1958. During the first three months of its operation this Post Office was known as State Farm, (March 29-May 3, 1871).
