The Fiskeville Post Office, (Cranston Township, Providence County) was established on July 18, 1832 under Postmaster Perry G. Knight. The Post Office was disestablished on January 7, 1854 and the name changed to Hopeville. It was reestablished again as the Fiskeville Post Office on November 5, 1858 and is still in operation today. During some periods, including the 1930's cancels are known with "FISKVILLE" as in the case of the cover shown above.
