The Post Office at Glendale, (Burrillville Township, Providence County), Rhode Island was established on June 14, 1888. The first Postmaster was John Hardman. This Post Office is currently in operation under Postmaster Maureen A. Payette appointed on April 16, 2005.

John Hardman is listed in the Census of 1900 as living in Burrillville Township. He was married to Elizabeth Grant and they had three children; Harry born in 1874, John T. born in 1878 and Alice C. born in 1881. John's occupation in 1880 is listed as owner of a dry goods store. John was born in England in 1844 and immigrated to the States in 1872
