Rhode Island Tercentenary Issue First Day Cover
300th Anniversary of the Settlement of Rhode Island
Issued on May 4, 1936 in Providence, RI - Scott #777

Risco Art Service - Multicolor Airbrushed Planty # 777-27b
3 of a Set of 4

Risco Art Service produced what for that time period, (1930s) were state of the art covers using an airbrush technique that created a beautiful cachet. Due to their limited production and the small quantities produced; these covers are highly sought by first day cover collectors and bring a premium price on the market.

This collection was able to acquire 3 of the 4 Covers produced by Risco Art Service, however the 2nd of the 4 covers produced by Risco remained elusive. That Cover is similar to the first cover in the set, (statehouse) with the addition of the Roger Williams statue (as above) in the foreground of the Statehouse and is Planty #777-27a.
