This post card was mailed from Grants Mills, but shows a scene in Arnold Mills. The villages of Grants Mills and Arnold Mills are both in Providence County. They are located in the extreme northeast quadrant of the state; Grants Mills is 3.5 miles and Arnold Mills is 5 miles east of Woonsocket. Grants Mills is located on Miscoe Lake and Arnold Mills is located on the south side of Arnolds Mills Reservoir. The towns are approximately 2.25 miles from each other.

This type of postcard with the white right side border for writing a message on the face of the card was a common type in use from 1900 to 1910.
