The Happy New Years Postcard above was mailed to Mrs. Albert Greene in Glendale, RI from K. M. M. at Tarkiln, Rhode Island on December 29, 1911.

The Tarkiln Post Office, (Burrillville Township - Providence County) was established on March 29, 1890 under Postmaster James O. Smith and disestablished on March 29, 1918. Mail is handled by the Oakland Post Office.

Albert S. Greene was born in Burrillville Township in 1847. He was married to Julia Greene and they had a son named Leon. He is listed in the 1910 Burrillville Census as the owner of a Grocery Store.
