- 1907 Photo Postcard
(Scroll Down for Background Information)

The Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) above was mailed to Addie L. Spaford in Fairfield, Connecticut  from the Watch Hill Station Post Office on August 22, 1907.  The stamp is the 1 Cent Jamestown Expedition (Captain James Smith) Issue of April 26, 1907 (Listed as $8.00 on cover), Scott Nr. 328.

The Watch Hill Post Office, (Westerly Township, Washington County) was established on January 24, 1871 under Postmaster William H. Chapman. The Post Office became a station of the Westerly Post Office on June 30, 1902 and is currently in operation.

The photo on the post card depicts typical dress of the period. I love the straw hats!
