Rhode Island Postal History - Railroad Cancels
1936 Boston & New York - RPO
Claflin Sales Corporation - Providence, RI
From Horace Street Garage - Mansfield, MA

The Boston & New York was actually part of the old New York, Providence & Boston Line. After the completion of the Thames River Bridge, the NY, Providence & Boston became part of the primary New York to Boston route. By 1893, the line was owned by the New Haven Railroad and was its busiest route. The cover was transported on Train Number 179.
SEE:  1887 Boston, Providence & New York Cover for complete history of this railroad.

Neither the Claflin Sales Corporation nor the Horace Street Garage are in existence today. There are currently three car dealers in Mansfield, MA today and none of these are Ford dealers.
