The Post Office at Exeter, (North Kingstown Township, Washington County) was established on February 15, 1849 with Samuel S. Fisher as Postmaster. This Post Office is currently in operation under Postmaster Katherine Schreck appointed on May 13, 2006.

Exeter Township is still a mostly rural area of woods and farmlands and is where my brother George built his home. It borders on Arcadia State Park and Stepping Stone Falls, (SEE: Settling of Rhode Island - Escoheag). Exeter Township includes the villages of Exeter, Liberty, Fisherville, Tripps Corner, Pine Hill, Black Plain, and Millville.

The Hall Schoolhouse was built during the 1750s and was in use until 1952. The one room schoolhouse taught children in grades 1 through 8 and has been fully restored and relocated next to the town hall.
